Creating world class experiences with BPE

The Challenge
Blue Platinum Events executes highly engaging and immersive experiences for their clients. They have a lot of experience with blue chip brands counting companies like Mercedes Benz as a longtime partner. Although they had such great clientele and a booming business, they face the problem a lot of growing companies do. They were stuck with a brand identity that did not reflect the quality and caliber of company that they really were.
Our mission was to audit the existing brand, connect with the essence of the company and translate all that into a new identity.
The Outcome
We took our client through the brand sprint process to define and establish what the core ideas would be to underpin the new identity. We also looked at existing assets, taking the heritage into consideration as we mocked up different design directions for the brand. We ended up with a new brand that took inspiration from the existing logo, but took it to a whole new level.
The Impact
Soon after we were finished with this process, Blue Platinum moved into their new offices where the brand was applied to environmental graphics and integrated into the space to create a beautifully immersive and moving environment. They also enjoy stronger brand assets and a website that showcases their stellar work and helps them win clients.
The Process
Defining the Brand

Being new to the company, we approached it with fresh eyes, working with Christine to outline and articulate what this company was really about and what it believed in. What kept coming to the surface was the passion, excellence and creative edge that was endemic to the culture of the company. They were a tight-knit family, a team of experienced people who loved what they did and were passionate about bringing the very best experience to their clients every time.

Designing the identity
We distilled the insights gained from our workshop together into 3 possible directions for the brand which we labelled – World Class Visionary, Innovative Passion, and Edgy Creative.
To further illustrate these ideas, we created brand style sheets to explore how these different ideas might be visually expressed.
World Class Visionary
World Class Visionary expressed themes of global standards, big bold imagery with a touch of class and luxury. The logo option here is the most directly linked to its predecessor. The circle is maintained, but the ‘bp’ mark is split up to clearly show ‘b’ and ‘p’. The rounded curves of the font lend repetition and rhythm to the mark.




Passionately Innovative
Passionately Innovative takes a warmer approach to give a forward thinking and enthusiastic look and feel, marked with bold letters and angular frames and structures that communicate the dynamism of the structures they often have to put up for their events.




Creative Edge
Creative Edge pushes the envelope with a simple work mark coupled with bold vibrant images and oversized text treatments.




The Decision & Buildout
Of these three possible directions, the client resonated best with the first option, choosing the design that was reminiscent of what they had before but refined and pushed it even further.
Inspired by the idea of modular and shape shifting identities, we created a logo which was flexible and morphed into various configurations depending on context and application but still retain its core identity and be easily recognizable.
This informed the way we built out the rest of the identity exploring this idea of modular, perpetually changing design.






Creating the Website
At the start of our engagement, there was an existing website that worked well enough, but needed updating to the new identity and a way to be easily updated with new client work. We worked through our process to design an experience that was bold, reflected the new look of the brand and made it easy to showcase projects to prospective clients.
